Tutus and photo manipulation

photo after using smudge filter in Elements to give it an impressionist look

note the green frog boots

After cropping the photo, I used the smudge tool on the feet that were still in the picture.
I hoped to give the impression of fancy dresses moving behind the girl.

  1. Very intriguing, I like the effect on the feet and think it worked well. I haven't learned much about manipulating my photos yet.

  2. Al, you should try it - it is really fun. And if you save the manipulated ones as different files, you will not damage the original. Of course in this photo, the little girl, and the pavement were the only elements worth saving.

  5. HI, it's me again! I didn't realize you were a new blogger...welcome! But, beware, it can become very addicting! :)

I would like to invite you to my weekend linkup. It involves anything related to homemaking: recipes, sewing, decorating, crafts, DIY, a story about what you did today, etc! I know you'd be a great addition to the party and it would help you to get your blog out there, as well as meet other talented bloggers!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!

    HaPpY pInK sAtUrDaY! (Again! :)

  7. Thank you for stopping by my Pink Saturday post! I love this, I think the smudge effect behind the little girl did achieve a look of movement & celebration and I do love her little green boots. I also like how the brightness of the bow in her hair really comes out in the altered photos. Did you enhance it? Very fun!

  8. Thank you all for visiting and for your comments. As I have now been blogging for 5 days, I appreciate your taking the time.

CalinMarie, I have the original edition of Elements. I often do a quick auto levels and auto contrast. If I like the effect of one or both, I leave it. Otherwise, I do little enhancement of color, contrast, etc. as I don't really have skills or software for more. In this case I don't remember if I used them or not.
